UI Designer (mid-weight) – 12-month contract

We are looking for a talented and solution-oriented UI Designer to join the agency on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong UX/UI skills to contribute to the development of digital solutions across a range of client projects that seek to engage and deliver positive outcomes.

Ideal candidates should have a strong UI portfolio, have experience working within creative agencies and be confident and capable of delivering effective, high-quality UI solutions, both independently and as part of a wider team. You should also be capable of assessing user needs and translating those needs into wires and flows, receive and implement feedback, and accurately articulate design decisions. A high level of familiarity with Figma is a must.

Whilst UI will be the core focus, you will need to provide support and assistance to the wider Creative Team from time to time, so good all-round creative capability would be essential.

Core responsibilities:

  • Receive creative briefs, interrogate client requirements and develop fit-for-purpose UI solutions for concepts, campaigns, programmes and assets
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how digital solutions should function and behave, across devices
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final handover for build
  • Review and identify problems at the build stage (e.g. design misalignments, accessibility, functionality, responsiveness)

Requirements and skills:

  • Good all-round design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc)
  • Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of design software, including Figma, Sketch, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Ability to communicate well and collaborate with others
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
